      At Sofology we believe that nothing beats feeling happy and comfortable at home. We think everyone deserves to have a safe and secure place to relax, which is why we’re working with Home-Start to help struggling children and families receive support during difficult times. The cost of living crisis is having a significant impact on the welfare of children across the country, causing mental strife for parents who are struggling to make ends meet. Childhood can’t wait for the economy to recover, which is why Home-Start volunteers are vital in assisting these families to ensure they have enough support to help them through this difficult time.

      About Home-Start

      As the leading U.K. charity of expert, volunteer-based family support, Home-Start works tirelessly in the homes of struggling and disadvantaged children. Home-Start helps families with young children deal with the physical and psychological cost faced when experiencing tragedy, hardship and neglect. Families who are reaching breaking point because of isolation, bereavement, physical and mental health issues, and financial hardship need support with compassion and without judgement, and this is what Home-Start provides.

      How we’re supporting Home-Start

      To support Home-Start directly, Sofology will be donating sofas to Home-Start outreach centres, which coordinate the 10,000 specially trained volunteers that support 44,000 children and 22,000 families annually. What’s more, Sofologists across the U.K. will take part in various fundraising activities to help give Home-Start the vital financial support they need to do their work.

        Charities

        Every customer will also have the opportunity to donate as much or as little as they like to Home-Start when placing their orders, through our partnership with Pennies, the digital charity box. This money will go towards helping Home-Start support vulnerable families and children. Making a donation means that every penny goes to charity. 90% will go towards Home-Start (registered charity number 1108837) and 10% will go towards Pennies (registered charity number 1122489).

        At Sofology, we are passionate about helping to create a real sense of feeling at home - but we also look to make a real difference to those who live in our local communities. Our new partnership with Home-Start feels like the perfect fit to enable us to do this. The vital work they do with children and families across the UK is more important than ever, given the cost of living crisis and the rising costs of energy.



        We hope that with our customers and colleagues' help, we can give Home-Start the necessary support to kick-start their Cost of Living Crisis Appeal, and help more families and children across the UK.
